Merit and Recognition – the Republic and its Presidents
The Museum of the Presidency of the Republic opened a temporary Exhibition on June 24th, 2012, at the Palace of Cidadela, in Cascais.
The Exhibition will be held till January 14th, 2013.
It concerns the decorations awarded to the President in office and to past Presidents of the Republic and a full display of the Portuguese Orders of Merit, with insignia and historical explanations.
The Exhibition is also enriched by a selected collection of photographs from the Museum funds.
The Palace of Cidadela – a former summer royal residence – and now a presidential Palace was recently restored to its former splendour and can also be visited.
